December 29, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jeff Schwilk Founder, San Diego Minutemen 760-525-1655 Another vicious attack today on a peaceful, law-abiding American activist (Mike Spencer) by a violent Latino pro-illegal alien advocate.SDMM sent approximately 10 legal observers to the infamous Vista Vons Day Labor Site today where 50-60 men, mostly illegal aliens gather daily in the large parking lots despite an ordinance by the city of Vista that is supposed to curb illegal hirings. From 7-10 am we observed and documented 8-10 illegal hirings with no presence of security guards, Code Compliance, or Vista Sheriffs. At about 10 am, several sheriffs deputies arrived after being called by the Mexican restaurant nearby. A few minutes later as SDMM volunteers were getting ready to wrap up the operation and leave, the group was approached by a young Hispanic woman who started yelling that Americans should not be there watching the day laborers. Moments later she violently attacked Mike Spencer who was merely videotaping her rant. The attack occurred near our vehicles in the parking lot near the Discount Store. Video of the attack:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtPuj0UB6BM As the video clearly shows, the woman cocks back and attacks Mike with her hand and fingernails to his head causing several deep scratches and actually causing the video camera to shut down. There were at least two witnesses who saw the entire attack. The woman's mother also jumped in and hit Mike and pulled his hair. The nearby sheriffs deputies ran over and immediately arrested the attacker, handcuffed her, and put her in the back of the cruiser for transport to Vista jail. The mother was also questioned by the sheriffs and faces possible charges. Spencer's injuries were not too serious, but he is in a lot of pain (see pictures attached). This is at least the 18th unprovoked attack on an anti-illegal immigration activist in San Diego County since June 2005 and the third attack on SDMM The woman's mother also jumped in and hit Mike and pulled his hair. at the Vista DLS in the past 18 months. San Diego County is once again reminded just how violent and aggressive some of these Latino activists can be. There have already been two convictions this year against people who assaulted American activists. SDMM will now conduct weekly Saturday morning legal observer operations at the Vista Day Labor Site until the city closes this violent and aggressive illegal hiring site. Citizens across America are rising up against the rampant lawlessness associated with illegal immigration and large street-side hiring sites. |
